Minibus Shortage?

After three lockdowns and a long wet winter, we have been expecting the end of the Easter holidays to herald the start of schools using their minibuses more and starting to allow pupils some much missed outdoor learning time. The number of enquiries from schools is beginning to increase and the common question is when could we expect our minibus to arrive if we order one
Ordinarily we like to have enough stock to turn around a delivery within four weeks, however this year we have been warned of some issues with some of the manufacturers as follows:

Ford Transit – Due to some issues with their diesel particulate filter, it is very unlikely that any Ford Transit minibuses ordered at the factory will be delivered before February 2022.

Peugeot and Citroen (NON D1) Minibuses – We are hearing some issues relating to shortages of some key components which will delay the delivery of the base vehicles into the UK. Once the current stocks are gone, again it is very likely that we won’t see any fresh stock until the very end of this year.

What can we do?

Firstly, it’s not all bad news. We have access to some remaining Ford Transit minibus product in a range of specifications, so if you are ready to discuss now, I am sure we will be able to match you up.

We have also secured a number of Peugeot and Citroen minibuses that do not require a D1 licence. But, depending on demand, this number could go quite quickly. Again, I would suggest contacting us as soon as possible to avoid delays.

If you are not in a critical rush and would prefer to wait there are a number of other options including:

  • Used Vehicles – We have a number of very low mileage and well looked after “pre-loved” 17 seat minibuses that do not require a D1 licence. These are offered for sale at competitive prices with your school logo, warranty and free delivery.

  • Flexi Rental – If you would like to fill a gap, or try before you buy, we can offer 12 month flexi leases at competitive rentals.
